I’ve often tweeted, “live like nobody is noticing and God is applauding.” And recently, I’ve seen that manifest itself in our very own home. Over the last few days, Raul has cleaned the kitchen, bought & assembled a Christmas tree, and worked on homework with the boys. I didn’t nag. I didn’t ask. I didn’t even hint. He just did it. Acts of service–without anyone noticing, without anything in it for himself. The bible talks about this. In Matthew 23:11, Jesus said, “But the greatest among you shall be your servant.”Β I’ve always known that Raul was the greatest among the two of us. But in the last few days I’ve witnessed WHY. It’s because he’s a “Matthew 23:11” kind-of-servant-leader. Because of Raul’s “attitude of servitude,” he makes a strong leader in our home & an influential one outside of it. And my mommy-heart treasures the fact that every day, two lil’ boys witness great leadership through gracious service. I pray they grow up to follow in his Cuban footsteps. πŸ™‚
