One time, I lost Andy in a Barnes and Noble. It was the longest 5 minutes of his life. He was so visibly shaken and scared when I found him. It may seem apathetic, but I had DJ take this picture because I never wanted to forget what it is like to be lost…and found. Many of us lose our way from wherever we left. We set out from our parent’s home. Maybe we set out after a divorce. Maybe we set out on a new career venture. Maybe we set out on a call to ministry. At some point, in almost all of our lives, at some point, we set out…and lose our way. But as lost as we may feel, and as scary and confusing as it is, God has not lost us. God knows where we left from. He knows where we are headed. And he knows how to help us find our way back. Got God? Then it’s all good. You may be lost, but He hasn’t lost you. In this season, if you can’t look out and find the way. Take this time to look UP, and find Him. He’s always there.
Its the worst feeling when you can’t see them, even for a moment… so glad you ‘found’ him. So glad our Heavenly Father never loses sight of me.

I LOVE THIS.

The words are powerful. The visual seals it. Wow.

We lost David in the Disney parking lot. The adoption had just become final, so we took the kids to celebrate. David was with us, but there was a large group around us. Suddenly, we turned around and he was not there. He had followed the group. That was a scary moment!

I had a similar situation occur with Myranda when she was 3 or 4… She didn’t know she was lost and was having fun under the clothing rack, while I lost my mind. After looking for what seemed an eternity, I heard her little laughter and just grabbed her and held her. I looked at her and said, “Don’t ever do that to mommy”, knowing she had no idea why I was so panicked.
