Though a bedroom has a light on, there is darkness under the bed. Thought there is daylight here, it is nighttime on the other side of Earth. Though the sky is filled with stars, there are dark spaces in between. Light—we gravitate toward it. But no matter how many “stars” we collect in our lives, there are dark spaces in between: our pasts, our pains, our secrets. What do we do? For me, I needed light more powerful than my dark. More pointedly, I needed a light willing to step into my dark with me. I needed God. The bible tells us, “…God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.” (I John 1:5) When God moved in, He brought light into my life that never fades over time, succumbs to dark, or flickers under pressure. Friends, don’t be discouraged by your dark, be encouraged by God’s light. I hope this encourages someone today.
So poignant for me right now…thank you.

Well there is the perfect explanation for why when I wake up in the morning I like to draw the shades open to let the natural light, (God’s Sunshine) into my home. It also explains why I love daylight savings time from spring to fall. I love the long days and dislike when it gets dark in the fall and winter so early. I’m not afraid of the dark, it just that I prefer the Gloriousness of the Sun; definitely the SON OF GOD!
