Cracked PotI’m all-to-aware of my chips, frailties and cracks. When you live a long time away from God–and you come back to Him–you retain just enough of your “cracky-ness” to not forget how far God brought you. So this verse (which God was awesome enough to include in his Bible) has immeasurable meaning to me. 2 Corinthians 4:7, “We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasureThis makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.” Cracked? Frail? Chipped? It’s ok. You’re a clay pot. Such things come with the territory. But you are still usable. You’re still valuable. Honestly? I think God can shine more through pots with cracks….than pots without. Be thankful for who you are, cracks and all. Because even cracked pots hold brilliant treasure–at least God thinks so! And I’m pretty sure He knows what He’s talking about. Nobody knows the pot better than the potter who made it. I hope this encourages someone today.
