personal-valuables-insurance-wide.v1288705932Jude 1:21 says, “Keep yourselves in God’s love…” I’ve never paid much attention to the book of Jude, much less, this verse.  Jude is a tiny book at the end of the bible that is easy to miss.  But let’s zoom on the first words: “keep” [yourselves] “in.”  Practically speaking, what things do we “keep, in?”  We keep money in the bank.  We keep cars in the garage.  We keep children in our sight.  We keep valuables in a safe.  Is there any connection between the things we keep and the things we keep, in?  Perhaps.  In all the earthly things we “keep, in,”  why do we?  I would say it’s because these things mean something to us.  I would say it’s because these things are worthy of us keeping-them-in.  Do you think God is trying to say the same thing?  Do you think God keeps us in His love because we are valuable and He wants His valuables kept safe? Do you think God keeps us in His love because we are his children He protects in His sight?  Look, God didn’t have some obscure “Hey-Jude-Dude” put this in the bible.  Whenever God talks about His love for us, its not just talk.  It’s been proven by His action.  Just ask Jesus…He died on the cross so that you and I could be…kept in…His love.
