photoI’ve had a stomach virus, to include such sexy symptoms as throwing up, diarrhea, fever, fatigue, stomach cramps, loss of appetite, and a few classy moments of barfing up blood. As far back as I can remember, I’ve never had this before. I have a history of other mental/physical ailments, but stomach viruses haven’t been one. Which has made me almost intolerant, definitely misunderstanding, to others with it. Since we’ve been married, Raul has had several bouts of a stomach virus. To say I wasn’t coddling and accommodating is an understatement.  There’s a lesson in this. And a blog post. But before I stand-corrected, I needed to see if there was a verse to support what I’m about to propose. Of course there was! There was actually many. The bible says, “Be kind and compassionate to one another.” But wait! There’s more! “Mercy triumphs over judgment,” “Jesus said, “I have compassion for these people” and “Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.”  You and I won’t always understand the things people go through.  To love them is to walk beside them anyway. It’s biblical. It’s being like Jesus. And it’s what we would want if the tables were turned. Lesson. Learned.
