LRE_3369You know the adage, ‘if at first you don’t succeed, try again.”  As a kid, that was NOT the adage I lived by. If I tried something and didn’t succeed right away, I quit. I quit choir, gymnastics, band, track, cheerleading…you name it. I wasn’t born a failure, but I lived like one.  One of the most powerful things I learned after I got out of the psych ward (as a pastor’s wife, no less) was that failing doesn’t mean quitting. I was IN the psych ward but I did not have to SETTLE for it. I learned that FAILING is PART of SUCCEEDING. In the last year, our boys have tried and failed at new things. But in our house, we didn’t let that stop them. We BELIEVE success is down their roads. Maybe you feel like quitting. Don’t. God created you to succeed. Would an Artist design a masterpiece such that it wouldn’t be destined for success? That contradicts itself. You are a masterpiece, you are made to succeed. I hope this encourages someone today.
