But sometimes life will give us seasons of unchosen loneliness (circumstance, varying). During such season, no one is “tweeting” your name, no one is pouring encouragement into your tank. It’s you, yourself and you. Jesus also experienced this too. He hung on the cross, separated from the world, and he showed us He wasn’t alone. In his final breaths, he cried to God, and he talked to Him. If all we depend on is the affirmation and encouragement of the world–what will we do when the world isn’t there? In my two seaons of unchosen loneliness, I had no access to community’s support. I had to learn to look within (not around) to who God created and called His royalty! His heir! His kid! If I was still breathing–this Master-Artist was still using his masterpiece! If he isn’t finished with me–I’m not finished with me. I learned to encourage myself by His declarations over my life and His promises in His book. Today, if it is lonely, I hope you know you are not alone. You have a friend in Jesus. And I hope this encourages you, today.
