I’ve mentioned before that I carry a small, tattered dollar-store notepad. I started carrying this years back, when I went through a particularly dark time. Today, I wanted to crack it open and share some of what’s inside. I hope that some of the verses that carried me back then, may help carry one of you, today.
And trust yourselves to the God who made you, for He will NEVER fail you.
1 Peter 4:19b
I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you. I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
I lift my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of Heaven and Earth.
He who dwells in the shelter of the most high will rest in the shadow of the almighty.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and the mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble and he saved them from their distress. Psalm 107:13-14
The Lord says, “let the redeemed of the Lord say so!”
Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear, your God will come,
God is the lifter of my head.
But don’t be afraid of those who threaten you.
I prayed to the Lord and he answered me, freeing me from ALL my fears.
I refuse to be sad because the joy of the Lord IS MY STRENGTH.
I CHOOSE to stay in your presence and I am full of your joy.
I have perfect peace because my mind trusts God, His word and His promises.
I give Jesus all my griefs and sorrows; I refuse to carry them anymore.
The Lord will perfect that which concerns me
