In 2024, Wondherful was selected as a finalist for the Non-Profit organization of the year -
Rising Star award. A “Rising Star” organization is young, and it may be small, but their impact
is huge. Qualifications for Rising Star are the organization has been in existence for less than
10 years. The nominee has a clearly defined mission and future vision, has effective leaders who
work in partnership to overcome challenges, is recognized and respected for impacting the lives
of those it serves and is well positioned for lasting community impact
In 2023, Heather Palacios was selected as an EPIC honoree (Exceptional People Impacting the
Community), presented by Mental Health America of Southeast Florida. This was their 27th year of
honoring local community members. Mental Health America, the nation’s leading community-based
nonprofit promoting mental health as a critical aspect of overall wellness. “These awards are
presented to members of our community who have exhibited exceptional service through their
actions, advocacy, leadership or service delivery to the most vulnerable in our community,” Paul
Jaquith said.
In 2023, Wondherful won the 211 Broward Community Care Plan Non-Profit Community Choice Award.
The Care Plan Non-Profit Awards recognize and bring awareness to the collective work and impact
of non-profit organizations and leaders throughout Broward County.
In 2023, Wondherful received a certificate of recognition from Governor Ron DeSantis for
involvement in the initiative, your front line service and commitment to the vulnerable
population of Florida.
